Choosing a new gaming mouse might be the hardest choice you have, as it’s so individual and important for your future gaming. If you are looking for a gaming mouse with pinky rest, your options are even slimmer. Luckily, we were able to find some mice that offer that and should give you some options depending on your preferences. 1. MIONIX NAOS 7000 Multi Wired Sensor Type: Optical Max DPI: 7 000 Programmable Buttons: 7 RGB: Yes Weight: 147g For anyone that is looking for a comfortable, optical gaming mouse, is going to be pleased with the Mionix Naos 7000. This is a gaming mouse with an ergonomic touch that feels natural to use for most types of situations. It’s been designed to be used for right-handed people and is not going to have any problems finding a comfortable position. As the title of this post suggests, this is a gaming mouse with pinky rest on its right side, making it a bit bigger than a “normal” mouse. The shape of this mouse allows you to make use of a full-palm grip. It will support all five of your fingers and you shouldn’t get cramped up when using the Naos 7000. The mouse gives you the type of precise control that you need in competitive gaming. Fast shooters like Fortnite or PUBG is games where this mouse perform. It also has a life off distance (LOD) calibration feature, meaning that the mouse will not move on the screen even if you lift the mouse a millimeter above the mousepad. This makes it easier to keep the gun in its place when firing. LOD settings, as well as many other settings, can be changed in the downloadable software that Mionix is offering. Here, you can customize your buttons in any way, change DPI, choose RGB color, set up macros and different profiles. The surface of the mouse feels very good. At no point does it feels like the grip is loose or that the mouse is slippery. The mouse is also lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy at all. The sensor does have some problems on certain surfaces but it’s quite common for optical sensors. I highly suggest ta mousepad for best tracking. 2. Logitech G600 - Runner Up Wired Sensor Type: Optical Max DPI: 8 200 Programmable Buttons: 20 RGB: Yes Weight: 133g This gaming mouse from Logitech is going to be a great option to choose when you’re into playing MMOs. It has been specifically designed with MMO games in mind and the 20 programmable buttons will certainly come in handy. 12 of these buttons sits on the side of the mouse, close to the thumb. The review for Logitech G900 and G600 is very different. Because the design is completely different. The thinking of this design is that you can bind multiple macros and key shortcuts to these buttons and then activate them with the thumb fast and easy. It opens up a whole new meaning to key binding. On the right side of the mouse, there is a third button where you can place either your ring finger or your pinky depending on the grip. This button is what Logitech calls a G-shift, meaning that you can double the number of actions that you can perform with every button. The number of actions that can be done is almost as much as a keyboard at this point. You will most likely want to download Logitech’s gaming software as this is where you can customize the mouse to your liking. Here, you can settings like DPI, RGB color or (most focus) the programmable buttons and they should do. The quality of this mouse is typical Logitech-quality. It’s a mouse that you can have for years to come. The buttons feel natural and satisfying to use, the low-friction feet under the mouse makes it very easy to move around and the USB cable is of course braided. This is a mouse that you could conceivably use for multiple years without encountering any issues. It makes it a very good value due to its reasonable price. Many people are already enjoying this mouse and I believe many more will do for a long time. 3. Asus Spatha - #3 Wired & Wireless Sensor Type: Optical Max DPI: 8 200 Programmable Buttons: 12 RGB: Yes Weight: 178g The Asus ROG Spatha is a high-end gaming mouse with a high-end price to it. But you get a lot of mouse for the money. The mouse can be used both wireless and wired and has Omron-switches, which is some of the best switches on the market. The mouse offers 12 programmable buttons and is designed for larger hands. It looks very “gamey” and I think they could have made it a little cleaner. The cable in the front is sturdy and will stay in place when in use. The mouse is also as heavy as it looks, as there is a battery inside. Speaking about battery, the battery life on the ROG Spatha is okay. It will last for around 3 days with full RGB on which isn’t amazing in any way. What is amazing is that Asus has come up with a solution, so you never have to care. Included in the purchase comes a dock where you can place the mouse when not in use. The mouse will then charge its batteries, meaning that you never have to go wired (unless you play for 3 days straight). The software for this mouse is the Asus Armory, which you can use to customize the mouse in some ways. Here, you customize your programmable buttons, changing RGB colors as well as changing DPI and other settings on the mouse. So, if you prefer a wireless mouse with a nice docking station as a charger, the ROG Spatha might be for you. It’s a good gaming mouse and there are no performance drops just because it’s wireless. The mouse runs smoothly on the surface of a good mouse pad and as long as the heavier weight doesn’t bother you (or the price), the ROG Spatha is a mouse worth looking at. Wrapping Up A gaming mouse should be chosen to enhance your gaming. A recommendation from me is that you think of which type of games you play the most and choose a mouse after that. A good mouse for FPS may not be the best mouse for RTS or other slower games, and vice versa. Having the right tool for the right job just makes things easier. Even if you care for your pinky, doesn’t mean that you have no options.
